Dear Marty and Noeleen:
I am writing on behalf of the Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center and its May Day Brunch committee to announce that the AAUP Wright State Chapter will be recognized at the Worker Center’s May Day Brunch with the Workplace Activism Leadership Award. Each year the Worker Center has been recognizing local workers, individuals and their unions, for standing up for themselves, and the community. Past Activism award winners include Gandhi Merida, Orlando Santiago. We also give a Local Legends and an Innovation Award. Past award winners in these categories include: Woman’s City Club, Robert Richardson, Sr., David Mann, the Iron Workers International, and Dr. Eula Bingham.
This award is the only thing of its kind in our region. The commitment your union showed to its members and to the community you serve was really inspiring and the Workers Center feels very strongly that this type of righteous solidarity should be recognized.
In Solidarity,
Brennan Grayson, Director
Cincinnati Interfaith Workers Center
